Cally Trench grew up in the suburbs of London, but the most important landscape for her has always been the seaside on the south coast of England. She studied Chemistry at Oxford University, writing a Part II thesis on the philosophy of the language of science. She worked in Hong Kong for two and a half years, and then returned to England to be a painter. She has exhibited in London, Oxford, High Wycombe (where she now lives with her husband and two children) and Poland. She has worked on educational art projects in about 30 schools and community centres, and has taken part in public art projects, including making two giant fish-shaped windsocks, which flew from towers in Oxford. She is currently studying for a degree in Fine Art at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College.
