Jean Davey-Winter was born in Leicester and now lives in northwest London. She also spends several months each year in a small village in southwest France, and finds the contrast between rural life and the pace of London both fascinating and an important influence in her work. Until recently she was Course leader of the Fine Art degree course at Buckinghamshire and Chilterns University College; she is now enjoying the freedom to explore and develop her own work again. She has exhibited widely in this country and internationally, and has work in a variety of public and private collections, here and abroad. Jean has three daughters: two in London and one in San Francisco, giving her an excellent excuse to visit that exciting city.
