I have an overwhelming desire to make things with my hands. I make things that reflect how I see and understand the world. I want them to have beauty and to contribute to our wellbeing. The things that I make speak on my behalf to other people. I love using wood and metal, and the way that they feel different, and I try not to use materials that pollute. When I have finished a piece of work, it does not belong to me any more. I let other people see it, and the pleasure for me is to see a smile on a child's face or a look of puzzled interest from an older person.
